Sokoto State Governor Tambuwal Presents 2016 Budget

The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, presented N174.35 billion Naira budget today Wednesday December 30th 2015 for the 2016 which education is getting the biggest sectoral allocation of 29 percent. When presenting the report before the State House of Assembly, Tambuwal revealed that the sum of N123.8 billion Naira has been set aside for Capital expenditure while N50.5 billion Naira has been set aside for Recurrent expenditure. He said education got the largest allocation in order to underscore his recent policy of declaration of state of emergency in the sector. He said "The policy thrust of the Budget is to ensure sustainable development of the State by focusing on the critical sectors of investment in Education, Health Agriculture, Environment Solid Minerals and Rural Development. Maybe the driver of the vehicle was on a high speed so he flew to the top of cement blocks near NIPCO fuel station at Olonkonla, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. The accident which happened a day after boxing day did not claim any life but the driver was seriously injured.

Former West Ham goalkeeper dies at 47

Former Newcastle United, West Ham and Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek has died at the age of 47. He suffered a cardiac arrest in Czech Republic while running on December 20th and has been in coma since then. Srnicek life support was pulled off yesterday after his family agreed to do so. Srnicek has played for Newcastle between 1991 and 1998, then won promotion to the top flight during the 1992-1993 season. He returned to the club on a season-long deal in September 2006 as cover for the injured Shay Given. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

Wizkid gave one million naira to fans

Nigerian Pop star Wizkid surprised his fans when he gave out one million Naira to four lucky fans who could recite his songs without skipping some lyrics. Wizkid who performed at an Industry Nite special concert held at Oriental Hotel on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in Lagos, thrilled fans with a very mature music performance and something ‘extra’. The Nigerian Pop artiste who had earlier announced that he would be giving out one million Naira to his fans at the gig indeed kept to his words as four lucky fans received N250,000 each. Wizkid asked some fans to recite any of his songs while the soundtrack played in the background. He entertained the crowd with back to back hits when he announced that he would be giving out the money. And called on his bodyguard who threw the money on the stage, exciting fans the more. Arsenal football club of England are close to securing their first signing of the season, as Egyptian international, Mohamed El Nenny is taking some medication with the London club. The Gunners have tabled a £5millon deal with Swiss club Basel for El Nenny as Arsene Wenger looks to reinforce his team after going top of the English Premier League.
