Osinbajo at Julius Maada Bio inauguration ceremony as the President of Sierra Leone

Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo and President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone  Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was at the inauguration ceremony of Brigadier Julius Maada Bio (Rtd) as the President of Sierra Leone at the national stadium in Freetown. Other world leaders, diplomats and celebrities present at the inauguration are President George Wear of Liberia, President Faure GnassingbĂ© of Togo, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Davido was invited to grace the entertainment part of the event, Mercy Johnson, Mr Ibu, among others were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

Fayemi wins gubernatorial primary election in Ekiti

The minister of solid minerals, Kayode Fayemi has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Ekiti. The former governor of the state got the most votes in the rescheduled exercise held on Saturday. Fayem who is from Isan-Ekiti in Oye-Ekiti local government area of the state took a total of 941 votes, which put him far ahead of other aspirants. Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura who is also the chairman of the committee overseeing the electoral process, had confirmed that 2, 327 delegates were accredited for the exercise. The aspirants who got more votes, but still not upto Fayemi are Segun Oni who secured 481 votes, Kayode Ojo (281), Olufemi Richard Bamisile (179), Oluyede Oluwole (121), and Aluko Daniel Olugbenga (86). Adekunle Patrick was the only aspirant without a vote while Ajayi Adebowale Oluranti and Elizabeth Taiye had one each. NIJSWLIGHTUP18: Meet the new Mr and Miss NIJ

Mr and Miss NIJ 2018 Emmanuel Iyamu and Prudence Alfred were crowned Mr and Miss Nigerian Institute of Journalism, NIJ, 2018. The new Mr and Miss NIJ beat 10 other contestants in the NIJSWLIGHTUP18 students week. The contestants showcase their dancing and communication skills as well as their dress sense and general knowledge mastery. The crown which was fiercely contested for, had 12 contestants, six females and six  males respectively. While Iyamu and Ms Alfred emerged as Mr and Miss NIJ 2018, Emmanuel Osere and Jessica Kings were crowned Mr and Miss Photogenic. Similarly, James Abraham and Damilola Shokoya emerged as Mr and Miss Amity. The exquisite dress made with shiny sequin and disk-shaped bead was worn by the enthralling new queen, a first-year National Diploma student, was made by another student who is creative designer, Zakariyah Azeezat.
