Janet Jackson to undergo surgery soon

The female superstar Janet Jackson is currently undergoing tests for throat cancer. The report comes after the 49-year-old singer revealed that she had no choice but to postpone the first dates of the next leg of her ‘Unbreakable World Tour’ which was due to kick off on January 9th, as there is need for her to undergo surgery. In spite of the very serious health scare, Janet is said to be optimistic about hitting the road later on in the year, with the insider adding to RadarOnline: “Janet said she knows that with prayers and her will, she’ll be back out on the road in the spring or early summer.” Janet tried to remain upbeat as she posted a statement explaining why she had to postpone her tour on her website, she wrote: “Hey you guys…Happy Holidays to each and every one of you! I need you to know, I learned from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the 'Unbreakable Tour' until the spring. "

US Marine charged with murder of his undergraduate sister

A 20-year-old U.S. Marine was arrested Tuesday morning by the U.S. Marshals Service in Arizona and charged with murder in connection to the New Year’s Day shooting death of a 20-year-old University of North Texas student during a traffic incident, according to police. The Denton Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Cpl. Eric Jamal Johnson, 20, who allegedly shot and killed Sara Mutschlechner following a dispute between two people in different vehicles at a red light. Johnson was arrested in Yuma, Arizona on a charge of murder. Johnson is an active U.S. Marine connected to Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, a spokesman for the base confirmed Tuesday. The Denton Police Department will be holding a press conference on Tuesday afternoon to provide more details. Mutschlechner was an alumna of San Marcos High School and a former resident of Martindale, a small town just outside San Marcos. Lagos State closes Oshodi market over insecurity

Lagos State Government yesterday shut down Owonifari market in the Oshodi, Oshodi/Isolo Local Government, aimed at addressing the security challenges in the area. Lagos State Government often arrested hoodlums in Oshodi for various robberies and other petty incidents.Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, lamented that the market has constituted a menace and an eyesore to the locality. He added that they have relocated affected traders and shop owners to the newly built Isopakodowo market stalls at Bolade area in Oshodi. The government has also started fencing-off of the set-back on Agege Motor Road that stretches from Ilupeju end of Oshodi all the way to the PWD/Ikeja GRA end of the area. He said that the fencing-off of the long stretch of the set-back is being undertaken to assist the Federal Government and the Nigerian Railway Corporation in particular with a view to beautifying it and safeguard lives along the railway corridor by discouraging street

Twins Joined At Genitals Recently Born In Bauchi

A pair of conjoined twin babies have been born in Tondo of Miya in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi state Nigeria recently. According to local sources, the unusual children were delivered at home and later transfered to Atbu Teaching Hospital, where they are receiving treatment. The twins, whose sex is still unknown, are joined at the abdominal region and share genitals. They also have four hands and legs, two heads and chests. According to their mother, Mrs Adama San, who comes from Fulani nomads, their family is very poor that is why she appeals to philanthropists and other kind hearted people wishing to help them. Conjoined twins are identical twins joined in utero. An extremely rare phenomenon, the occurrence is estimated to range from 1 in 49,000 births to 1 in 189,000 births, with a some what higher incidence in Southeast Asia, Africa and Brazil.
