HND/BSC discrimination banned in Federal Civil Service

The Federal Government has taken off the discrimination between the Higher National Diploma (HND) and Bachelor of Science (BSC) in the Civil Service of the Federation.

The Permanent Secretary, Service, Policies and Strategies Office (SPSO), office of the head of the Federal Civil Service, Mr. Ndubuisi Osuji made this known yesterday during the 40th National Council on Establishment in Owerri, Imo State.

Mr. Osuji said the decisions arrived at the previous National Council on Establishment in Abuja. The decisions were fully implemented through various circulars conveyed to the relevant stakeholders. And some of the listed decisions in the occasion include uniform Scheme of service for all category of Nurses: internship for graduate Nurses who do not possess the professional Registered Nurse/Midwife qualification.

Others are increase entry salary Grade Level 08 for all category of HND holders and establishment of Assistant Educations Officers Cadre Salary Grade Level 07-14 for candidates with the requisite qualification in Special Education.

Osuji also said that the event would consider a total of eighty memoranda including eighteen reference cases and sixty six new memoranda, submitted by Federal, State Government, agencies and other stakeholders
