About 1,131 pregnant women are HIV positive in Lagos
About 1,131 pregnant women have been tested positive to the dreaded and incurable disease, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in Lagos State. The Health Commissioner, Dr. Jide Idris disclosed this , at a ministerial news conference in Alausa, Lagos, that 38,791 pregnant women were tested for HIV, out of which 1,131 of them tested positive in the last one year. The commissioner said the test was carried out from the money received from Global Fund to tackle HIV issues in the state in a bid to attach the spread.
