Police arrest Afenifere leader’s daughter’s killers

The police have arrested some suspects allegedly involved in the killing of Mrs Funke Olakunrin, daughter of the Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti.

The spokesman of the Ondo State Police Command, Femi Joseph, who confirmed yesterday that some armed gangs killed Mrs Funke on Kajola-Ore road, Ondo State said the suspects were arrested when a team of security operatives stormed the forests near the area.

He said the suspects will be paraded while investigations is still ongoing,

FG acquires calibration safety aircraft worth millions of dollars

The Honourable Minister, Sen. Hadi Sirika; receiving the Beechcraft 350 aircraft at the General Aviation Terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Thursday. Federal Government of Nigeria on Thursday has delivered a Beechcraft 350 aircraft worth 8.5million Dollars for calibration of navigation equipment in the country’s airports. According to the press release by Federal Ministy of Information and Culture Honourable Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika who was present to receive the aircraft at the General Aviation Terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, said that the aim of acquiring the aircraft is to calibrate the Nigerian airport equipment and to aid the country’s flight operations. Speaking further, Sen. Sirika asserted that Nigeria aviation have not had airport calibration equipment for years.
