Lagos Police apologise for temporary closing of 3rd Mainland

The Lagos State Police Command has explained the reasons for the temporary closure of the Third Mainland Bridge on Sunday.
In a statement released by the Lagos Police’s Public Relations Officer, Choke Oti, it was disclosed that the bridge, a busy route for Lagosians was closed as a result of a “simulation exercise” by NEMA, LASTMA, the Police and FRSC. The statement read;
“The Third Mainland Bridge was temporary shut to traffic this morning 29/04/2018 due to “Simulation Exercise” carried out by NEMA, LASTMA, the Police, the FRSC and other agencies of government.
The aim of the exercise is to gain a coordinated response among these agencies who are usually the first to respond in emergency situations.

The Lagos State commission of Police, Imohimi Edgal hereby apologises for the inconveniences suffered while the exercise lasted. The CP added that the exercise was for common good. The exercise is however, over and the bridge is now open to traffic.
