MAPOLY radio commence operation

MAPOLY rector, Dr Samson Odedina
Few years after getting a provisional license from the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), MAPOLY Radio 99.7FM starts operations this September.

The rector of Moshood Abiola polytechnic, Dr. Samson Odedina made this assertion while receiving the state coordinator of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), Abosede Williams in Ogun State.

In his words, “our focus to begin full operations with MAPOLY CAMPUS RADIO on 99.7 FM by September remains sacrosanct.”

The much-awaited MAPOLY radio has according to the rector been given a license to operate with the 99.7 frequency modulation.

A document shown to our correspondent shows that the radio has been given licence to operate since May 11 2015, which he blamed the belated take off on crisis management issues that the institution experienced lately.

Samson said decisions has been made to start operations properly as the licence expires in 2020.

As part of efforts in speeding up the transmission process, the rector set up a committee for the radio headed by a senior lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Sina Aina.

The committee burdened with a four-week deadline which will lapse in September has since been giving the Rector recommendations on a smooth take off.

Earlier in August, Dr. Samson also paid a visit to the proposed studio to inspect the facilities in place.
