Released Dapchi girls visit President Buhari in Aso Rock

President Buhari and the released Dapchi girls The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has received the 104 released students of Government Girls Science Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe, northern Nigeria who were abducted by Boko-Haram terrorist.  Two days after their return, the Dapchi girls have now visited Aso Rock, the Presidential villa in Abuja, and were received by the President who arrived the Council Chamber few minutes past 12 today after the girls arrived for meeting. Some hierarchy government officials, the country's security chiefs and the girls' parents, also with press attended the meeting in the Presidential Villa’s Council Chamber. In the meeting, the President promised to bring back the remaining abducted Chibok girls.

WAEC bans private schools teachers from supervising it examinations

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has banned teachers from private schools from supervising its examinations. This was stated in a press conference on Thursday by the president, Christian School Association of Nigeria, Ekeate Ettang who at the same time said the decision of the national examination body must be reversed. She said if WAEC fails to do so, its members will boycott the national examinations. “In view of the above, the association of Christian schools demand that WAEC cancels the order and revert to status quo where credible teachers from Christian schools in Nigeria were involved in the supervision of WAEC examination. Failure to do so, all Christian schools nationwide will withdraw from future WAEC examinations.” The president of the association said the action of WAEC was an indictment on its staff. IGP halts withdrawal of police personnel attached to VIPs

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris,  has halt the withdrawal of policemen attached to VIPs across the country. The order which was announced on Monday, was supposed to be immediate followed Idris’ meeting held also on 20 March with the assistant  inspectors-general at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, also with Commanders of Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) and Special Protection Unit (SPU). Police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, explained the reason IGP Idris has shifted the enforcement/implementation of the withdrawal of Police Officers attached to Political and Public Office Holders, VIPs, Public and Private Companies and other categories of enterprises and business outfits and corporate individuals throughout the country as earlier directed to enable the Force carry out a thorough assessment of the current deployment.
