2016 Budget Document is missing from National Assembly

It has been reported that the 2016 budget proposal is missing from the National Assembly premises. The disappearance of the document was discussed during a closed door session of the Senate that lasted 90 minutes. Moreover, it was announced by Senate Leader Ali Ndume as Senators gathered to begin the consideration of the budget today, January 12, 2016. Earlier, the N6.8 trillion that was presented by the president to the National Assembly on December 22, 2015 was said to have been withdrawn and be replaced with another one by the presidency but reports were denied. FIFA General Secretary, Jerome Valcke, sacked

FIFA's emergency committee has dismissed Jerome Valcke from the organisation after some ethics charges were brought against him over world cup sales of ticket. FIFA sent out a press release which stated: The FIFA emergency committee decided to dismiss Jerome Valcke from the position of FIFA secretary general with immediate effect. Jerome Valcke is therefore no longer the secretary general of FIFA. ''The employment relationship between FIFA and Jerome Valcke has also been terminated. The duties of the secretary general will continue to be assumed by the acting secretary general, Dr Markus Kattner." Valcke is facing a nine-year ban from FIFA after an ethics investigation into several alleged offences which are black market sales of World Cup tickets. Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique says the the club is not too contented with their strikers and there is need for another one. "Right now our greatest need is to strengthen the attacking line but I would like bring in reinforcements across the board," Luis Enrique told a news conference previewing wednesday's Copa del Rey last 16 second leg against Espanyol. Mosquito-borne Virus Known as 'Zika' Poses New Health Threats

Scientists at Britain's Oxford University warned that a virus known as Zika is raising globally. Zika is a mosquito-borne virus and has caused a major outbreak in Brazil, has "the potential of rapid spread to new areas." According to public health officials; Zika was first detected in Africa in the 1940s and was unknown in the Americas until last year, but has now been confirmed in Brazil, Panama, Venezuela, El Salvador, Mexico, Suriname, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Guatemala and Paraguay. It is carried by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which thrives in tropical climates and can also carry other diseases such as yellow fever, dengue fever and chikungunya. Thousands of people in Brazil have been infected by Zika.
