Women in Journalism 2019 conference coming up soon
The fifth edition of Women in Journalism, conference will be coming up on 5th of October 2019. Since 18 months the conference last held, the organizers had regrouped and redirected the program with the topic: Action Journalism: Women on the Frontlines. This will specifically look at supporting and highlighting the hard work of African journalists at the conflict areas, under difficult and dangerous conditions. Like the journalists working in the North Eastern part of Nigeria and other African countries WiJAfrica is the annual conference supported by international and local partners for women journalists working in Africa. The program is aimed at advancing conversations around the practice of journalism in Africa. To lecture at the event are notable personalities like Thomson Reuters Foundation, Monique Villa, Rhodes University's Prof Anthea Garman, Courage in Journalism Award winner Christiana Anyanwu, veteran journalists Ruth Benamaisia Opia, Bimbo Oloyede, and others.
