FG acquires calibration safety aircraft worth millions of dollars

The Honourable Minister, Sen. Hadi Sirika; receiving the Beechcraft 350 aircraft at the General Aviation Terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Thursday. Federal Government of Nigeria on Thursday has delivered a Beechcraft 350 aircraft worth 8.5million Dollars for calibration of navigation equipment in the country’s airports. According to the press release by Federal Ministy of Information and Culture Honourable Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika who was present to receive the aircraft at the General Aviation Terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, said that the aim of acquiring the aircraft is to calibrate the Nigerian airport equipment and to aid the country’s flight operations. Speaking further, Sen. Sirika asserted that Nigeria aviation have not had airport calibration equipment for years. Tension in Imo state over former governor's arrest

Emeka Ihedioha and Rochas Okorocha The confrontation between the Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha and his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha, has increased in the last two weeks, with growing concern that it could get into full blown crisis if urgent steps are not taken to stop the conflict. The situation was further incensed by the governor’s order for the arrest of Okorocha by citizens of the state, following the assault of the Chairman of the Committee for the Recovery of Government Property, Jasper Ndubuaku by irate youths. Secretary to the State Government, Uche Onyeaguocha, gave the order, while addressing youths before they were dispatched to the Sam Mbakwe Airport to ambush the former governor who they assumed was returning to the state from Abuja.
