Mercy Johnson addresses rumour of her marriage stumbled

Early this year, Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, deleted all her husband’s photos from her Instagram page, and this led to reasoning that there was trouble in her happy marriage. The actress calmed the rumour days later with a cosy photo herself and husband curled up in bed in uniform pyjamas. The actress has now addressed the rumours in an interview with Punch. The mother-of-three explained why she removed her husband's photos from her page. She also revealed that there's no problem in her marriage. She said: I did not feel bad when I read the news that my marriage was hitting the rocks because it was not true. I am very comfortable in my own space and I am not out to please anybody. I am always true to myself and I continue to be a happy person. There was absolutely no problem between my husband and me, I only deleted the old pictures on my Instagram page. 202 students expelled from Laspotech

The Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, has expelled 202 students for cultism and examination malpractice within three years. The school rector, Samuel Sogunro, in a report said between 2015-2018, 183 students has been expelled for cultism while 19 has been dismissed for exam malpractices. 88 of the 183 students were in the School of full-time studies while 95 in part-time studies respectively. He said, nine of the 19 students dismissed for exam malpractice were full-time and 10 were part-time students. Sogunro restated that the school does not tolerate all forms of exam malpractices and cultism. He promised to publish the names of the culprits in a national newspaper soon.

Senate responds on why IGP Idris can’t remain in office

Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris  The Nigerian Senate has said the Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris is not supposed to remain in office for placing him self above them. The lawmakers were responding to a statement from the police, stating why the IGP failed to honour three summons extended to him to brief the lawmakers on the lot of killings in the country. Sabi Aliyu Abdullahi, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affair, in a statement, said “the IGP by trying to reduce the reason for his invitation by the Senate to the arrest of Sen. Dino Melaye is simply holding on to stalk”. “The issue of Sen. Melaye’s arrest has been overtaken by events. The courts are already handling the related cases.
