Presidential visit: Lagos state declares March 29 work free day

The Lagos State Government has declared Thursday, March 29 as work free day in the State. This was announced by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan today, and that this will enable Lagosians to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari who is on a historic two-day visit to Lagos State. He urged residents to be in accordance with the security guidance earlier announced to make the visit as peaceful and orderly. Announcing traffic diversions and alternative routes ahead of a two-day visit by President Muhammadu Buhari to the State between March 29 and 30, State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal, at a press briefing held at Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja, said adequate preparations have been made to mitigate the impact of the road diversions on residents, while access would be given to any emergency situation. Rebecca Sharibu, the mother of Leah Sharibu, who is the only Dapchi schoolgirl still in Boko Haram captivity revealed how her daughter got such a courage of not denouncing her Christian faith, Rebecca has spoken about her daughter's abduction and how Leah came to be such a courageous girl. Speaking to the Human Rights Lawyer, Emmanuel Ogebe, Leah's mother said she has the hope that her daughter will return home to her, but if Leah is killed for what she believes in, she is believes that they will meet again one day. MMM founder dies of heart attack

Russian businessman and founder of the MMM rapid increase outline, Sergei Mavrodi who defrauds millions of Nigerians through his Ponzi scheme, is dead. Sergei Mavrodi 62 year old Mavrodi, died of a heart attack reports in the Russian media said on Monday, March 26. According to reports, Mavrodi was rushed to the hospital on Sunday night with pain in his chest and died after some hours. Mavrodi’s MMM financial pyramid was a typical Ponzi scheme in which earlier investors receive their profits from subsequent investors. It also promised returns of 20 percent to 75 percent a month, as well as lotteries and bonuses for investors. Between 2011 and 2016, Mavrodi launched Ponzi schemes under the MMM brand in 5 countries which are India, China, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria.
