Read Nollywood actress's opinion on marriage

Image
Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar thinks it's not and says she has no plans to be married now as there's no real love these days. Speaking with Encomium magazine, she said; Marriage has been overrated. It’s unnecessarily over rated. It’s just too much of headache with how things are now, and there is no happiness. Even ordinary relationship is a huge burden, huge headache and heart-breaking, let alone marriage. When you can’t stand each other when dating, how would you live together under the same roof as husband and wife? People need to know themselves seriously. She said: "I am not a huge fan of gender equality because we can't be equal. We can't be men. We have our own role to play, a very pivotal one. And we keep going about doing this forums of gender equality, its like a dance, everyone is beginning to dance, what a man can do a woman can do better! But how about if we think about it this way that we are limiting our potentials and where we could get to as women by us keep saying that we want to be equal. I don't think we can ever be equal".

For all of us in this hall, you know that the challenge of fixing a house that has been destroyed is much more cumbersome than even building a completely new house because for the one that has been destroyed, you have to start by removing the debris.
