Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad Tuesday morning arrested Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West senatorial district. Reports said that the lawmaker was arrested by the SARS and subsequently detained in a facility located opposite the old CBN junction along the Area 1 Expressway. The SARS detention facility is known for imprisoning hardened criminals arrested for theft, murder, cultism and other criminal acts. It would be recalled that initial attempts were made by the police to arrest Senator Melaye after immigration officials disembarked him from a flight to Morocco on Monday morning. Following his release after three hours detention at the immigration office at the airport, the lawmaker’s house was besieged by over 80 armed policemen from yesterday until the early hours of Tuesday.

The Vice-chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Prof. Kolawole Salako, has appealed to the Federal Government to rescind its decision to scrap management science courses in specialised institutions. He made this appeal on Monday at the Senate Chamber of the institution while briefing journalists as part of the 30th anniversary of its existence. Salako, who said the institution had not admitted students for management courses such as Accounting, Banking and Finance, among others, for about two academic sessions, explained that the fate of the undergraduates and the lecturers in the institution’s College of Management Sciences were hanging. The Federal Government had, last year,  ordered the scrapping of management courses in specialised varsities in the country. Consequently, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, directed the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board “to delete all such courses on its portal.” The government therefore directed...

The Duchess of Cambridge and their new born son Prince William arrives at the hospital with his kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte to visit their new baby brother. On Monday morning, A pril 23, Kensington Palace tweeted that the   Duchess was in labour   and had headed to hospital and it was announced that she had delivered a baby boy, later that morning at  St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London. The happy couple introduced the new arrival to their other kids before heading back home.

Indian dad gave his daughter to his friends as a "gift" and joined them in gang-raping her for 18 hours. The 57-year-old father, first introduced his 35-year-old daughter to his friend at a fair in Kamlapur. Both men convinced her to join them on a visit to their other friend who lives in Lucklow and she agreed. After, her dad gave her as a "gift" to his friends and she was locked inside the housewhere she was raped. The young lady later escape and fled to her mum's house where she was staying at the time after her marital breakdown. Her mum called the police as soon as she learned of the assault.
