Muslims all over the world observe Ramadan, marked by intense fasting from dawn to dusk which finally ends with the hopeful festival of Eid Al Ftr. The month long Ramadan fasting ends with the sighting of the young moon in the sky. The date of the festival varies from country to country, depending on whether the moon has been seen or not. The Lunar cycle is used to calculate the Islamic Hijri era and this year’s Ramadan will be observed and/or already being observed at a different time across the world, as the moon was not visible in some parts of the country. That has been the case many times in the past, Eid Al Fitr is celebrated on one day in some parts of the country, and on another day in others. In some Southwestern parts of some continents in the world, the moon was sighted yesterday because Ramzan began a day earlier in these part.

The U.S. now demands to know the social-media user names of people applying for visas as part of stepped up screening of foreign visitors and immigrants. The change, which was initially announced last year and taking effect this month, follows on a 2017 order by President Donald Trump requiring heightened vetting for visa applicants, according to a State Department official.  An estimated 14 million travellers and 710,000 immigrants to the U.S. each year will be affected by the changes, according to notes in the Federal Register. The official said national security is the top priority and every would-be traveler or immigrant already faced screening, including requirements to list their travel history, family member information, and previous addresses.  The American Civil Liberties Union had opposed the proposal, arguing the questions would create "an environment ripe for profiling and discrimination."

Prince Hakeem Adeyemi Kosoko who was recently promoted to the position of Permanent Secretary of Education District 4, died during the night after suffering an undisclosed ailment. Adekunle Gold's father  According to Prince Adeyemi Kosoko was taken out of the country after falling sick few months ago and only recently returned to recover. A teacher who works under Mr Kosoko's district in Lagos revealed that his death was announced to the teachers in Education District 4 this morning.
