Turbulence injures 37 on Air Canada flight (Video)

Early hour yesterday, an Air Canada flight en route to Australia was forced to make an emergency landing in Hawaii after more than 12 passengers were injured during intense turbulence. Health officials in Honolulu said 37 people on board suffered injuries in the incident, which about 30 were rushed to local hospital, including flight crew, children and elderly passengers. Those on board described a terrifying scene in which the plane suddenly dropped with only a few seconds of warning, flinging passengers and crew across the cabin. Officials said victims sustained back, neck and head injuries. The plane was travelling from Vancouver to Sydney when it encountered unexpected turbulence just west of Hawaii. Flight AC033 then made an unscheduled stop at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu at 6:45 a.m. local time, where six ambulances and 50 first responders were on scene.

Lagos State Governor declares free toll at Lekki-Ikoyi toll gates

Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared toll free for motorists going and coming out of Lekki axis during rush hours on Thursday. The Governor declared a toll-free passage at the toll plaza on Lekki-Epe Expressway and the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge between 6:30am and 9:30am in the morning, and also at the peak period in the evening (4:30pm to 8pm). The Governor disclosed this during a tour that followed a stakeholders’ meeting on regeneration of the Lekki-Oniru and parts of the Victoria Island as solution to the perennial traffic gridlock and flooding issues around the Lekki and Ajah areas. The objective, according to Governor Sanwo-Olu is to allow traffic consultants to the government carry out a comprehensive study of traffic flow around Lekki-Ikoyi-Victoria Island axes, which is part of the initiatives the government is bringing to diffuse vehicular gridlock in major Business Districts in the state. What Funke Akindele-Bello thinks about her friends

Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele-Bello aka Jenifa, says it is not acceptable for her friends to feel so close with her husband to the extend they start exchanging casual phone calls or text messages. Funke who is married to JJC Skillz, and both welcomed a set of twins last year says they can only call him when it's his birthday or when they want to reach her but cannot. If not, that is not allowed. She said this during an interview with TVC. When asked her opinion about friends and respecting personal spaces in marriages and relationships, Funke said “For me, personal space is personal space. Your best friend has to stay in her lane. Also a get together was held at L.A’s TAO restaurant on Saturday and it continued until Sunday on to The Spotlight Room. Brother and sister kidnap their 88-year-old father

Police arrested two siblings with one other person in Imo state for kidnapping their 88-year- old father. The two siblings, Chinaza Nwogu and Emeka Ejike teamed up with Chinaza’s fiancé, Emmanuel Sunday to kidnap their old father, Louis Njoku. Emmanuel had planned using his cut from the ransom that will be paid for the abduction of his would-be father-in-law to pay for his daughter’s bride price. According to the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, when parading the suspects, said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Imo state command on June 29 following a tip-off. “A pathetic development is that of two siblings, who teamed up with the would-be husband of one of them to abduct their 88-year-old father. Bayero Law undergraduate defend herself by stabbing husband

Hanan and husband  Hanan, the Law undergraduate of the Bayero University Kano, who has been accused of stabbing her husband, Saeed Hussein, at their home in Kano state on Friday 21st June, has said her husband died while she was trying to defend herself from his beating. According to an eye witness, a neighbour said she saw Hanan with a swollen face and bruises all over her body, had been tolerating her husband who tortures her at the slightest provocation. Another neighbour stated that Hanan said her husband beats her up despite knowing that she was pregnant. While protecting herself as her husband tried attacking her with a knife, she mistakenly pierced into his body. Hussain was rushed to the hospital after the incident and later died.

A woman revealed on social media how her boyfriend of two years recently got married. Jennifer Washington shared screenshots of the text message along with photos from Fredrick's wedding. She said all was fine between her and boyfriend Fredrick Burnom. They even took a trip to see her family just two weeks before he married someone else named Raquel Massiel. When Jennifer found out about the wedding, she confronted Fredrick through text and he couldn't give a convincing reason why he didn't break up with her before getting married to someone else.
