Siasia Reacts To Mikel’s Request To Be At Rio Olympics

The Nigeria Super Eagle coach, Samson Siasia has reacted to reports that Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel may be a surprise inclusion in Nigeria’s Dream Team VI squad Rio Olympics 2016. Siasia denied the reports of the local media stories that Mikel could be one of the three over-aged players to represent the country in the competition. Speaking to Supersport.com, Timi Ebikagboro, Nigeria’s Under-23 team spokesman said: “Coach Siasia has not mentioned the name of any player who will be included in the Olympic team so I want to advise the Nigerian media to be patient. “When the list of players to be invited is released, it will be made available to the media. This issue of trying to be smart or trying to get exclusive stories will not help the team. “They will only heat up the polity because if eventually,  Siasia does not invite Mikel, there will be talk of the coach having a grudge against the Chelsea player. Who wins the Ballon d'or among Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Van Dijk?

After Portugal won the maiden edition of the UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE, Ronaldo might be the odds on favourite to win the 2019 Ballon d'or award surpassing Liverpool's Virgil Van Dijk and Barcelona's Lionel Messi. Before the final, Van Dijk was the odds on favourite, as his successful season with Liverpool sum up in him winning the PFA player of the year award, but his failure to lead his team to glory, reduced his chances. Messi, always a best enjoyed superb season scoring 36 La Liga goals in just 29 starts as Barcelona’s victory. He unfortunately didn't win the UEFA champions league as his team were humiliated by Liverpool, but he still won the European Golden Shoe for the third consecutive season. Messi heads to this summer’s Copa America looking to finally win silverware with Argentina against his other competitors, Mo Salah and Saido Mane of Liverpool.
