The Senate has received a letter from President Buhari, stating that some corrections were made to the 2016 budget presented to it on December 22nd. The letter which was read before the house by Senate President Bukola Saraki this morning reads in parts. “It will be recalled that on Tuesday, 22 December, 2015, I presented my 2016 budget proposals to the joint sitting of the national assembly. I submitted a draft bill accompanied by a schedule of details. At the time of submission, we indicated that because the details had just been produced, we would have had to check to ensure that there were no errors in the detailed breakdown contained in the schedule. That has since been completed and I understand that the corrections have been submitted. President Buhari who is presently on a state visit to China, visited the Former Chinese Imperial Palace which is rather known as China’s Forbidden city, today April 12, 2016. Special Adviser to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has written a brief history of the forbidden city. Read: The city was built from 1406 to 1420 in the reign of the Ming Dynasty Yongle Emperor. It served as the seat of power for 24 emperors, over the course of 491 years.
