Lagos State Commissioner of Police,  Imohimi Edgal  The Lagos State Police Command has explained the reasons for the temporary closure of the Third Mainland Bridge on Sunday. In a statement released by the Lagos Police’s Public Relations Officer, Choke Oti, it was disclosed that the bridge, a busy route for Lagosians was closed as a result of a “simulation exercise” by NEMA, LASTMA, the Police and FRSC. The statement read; “The Third Mainland Bridge was temporary shut to traffic this morning 29/04/2018 due to “Simulation Exercise” carried out by NEMA, LASTMA, the Police, the FRSC and other agencies of government. The aim of the exercise is to gain a coordinated response among these agencies who are usually the first to respond in emergency situations.
