Photo: Family of five died in Donegal accident

A family of five have drowned after their car plunged off an Irish pier.

According to reports, a baby girl was saved after she was thrown from the window as it 'nosedived' downwards.

The baby was rescued from the water by a predestian who stripped off and dived into the freezing harbour at Buncrana in County Donegal, north-west Ireland.

The family from the Galliagh area of Derry, had crossed over to Ireland to enjoy the good weather yesterday, March 20th.

Ruth Daniels, bottom right, her 15-year-old daughter Jodie-Lee, top left, Sean McGrotty, centre, and her two grandsons, Mark, top right, and Evan, centre and top right, all died while their two months old baby named Rioghnach survived. Mr McGrotty's partner Louise James, bottom left, who is the mother of Rioghnach and the daughter of Ms Daniels, is believed to have been on a 'hen weekend' in Liverpool at the time of the sad event.
