102 years old swimmer prepares for Rio Olympics


As the world's top swimmer prepare for the Rio Olympics, a sprightly Japanese centenarian insists she will still be breaking records by the time the 2020 Tokyo Games begins.

Closing in her 102nd birthday, Meiko Nagaola has racked up an astonishing world best in her age bracket after only taking up swimming in her late eighties, warns she is not yet done.

BREAKING: Court declares Omo-Agege’s suspension by Senate invalid

The Federal High Court in Abuja has declared Senator Ovie Omo-Agege suspension by the Senate for 90 legislative days invalid. The ruling judge, Nnamdi Dimgba on Thursday stated that the Senate is only empowered to suspend an erring member for 14 days and 1 legislative day. Justice Dimgba, therefore, ordered the immediate reinstatement of Senator Omo Agege who was suspended on 12 April, 2018, to be paid salaries and other entitlements. Senator Omo-Agege was suspended during plenary over the remarks he made at a press conference that the amendment of the 2010 Electoral Act which changes the sequence of elections set by INEC is targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari.
