Accident: usual drainage car plunge in Asokoro
Like a thrust supersonic vehicle released on the high way, a green Hyundai car sped off and hit a grey coloured Toyota Camry.
The Hyundai which was on high speed hit the Toyota Camry and both slide into the deep drainage along a place called Asokoro road, Abuja.
It has been the usual crash on that road, at that spot and position just like a death trap for motorist since the construction of that Asokoro road.
Oje, a car driver behind before the crashed car said; "the driver was over taking many vehicles like he was being pursued, and while on high speed, I saw him from a far distance, suddenly as he passed Barracks bus stop almost heading to the next bus stop; AYA, he hit and fell together with the car that was opposite him into the drainage at the side of the road, but I am surprised with the forceful nature of the accident, no life was lost even the driver could run away". He also emphasized that the position of the drainage on that road is wrong that is why vehicles crash all the time at that particular position. And some unlearned drivers still over take not knowing the repercussion of over taking on a bend road.

Driving on that road need caution especially the manner and position users over take vehicles, knowing well that it is wrong and not safe to over take at a bent corner. Not only on Asokoro road, it is also applicable to other places nation wide. When the road is bad the rate of accident for people that are not familiar with a particular place in an area is much, and speed reduces for those that are used to the route. Then this reduces the rate of accidents Even the good road contributes to much accident in Nigeria because most road users are not careful when driving.
Earlier last year 2017, when the road has not been widen to more lanes, there is no day that passes that there wouldn't be traffic, but now, its free and there is increase in different vehicles' crash.
Already, the driver of the green car who caused the accident has taken on his heels when he saw the impact of the crash on the other car he hit.
Vehicle Inspection Official (VIO) on duty, Mr Laitan said: “the driver took advantage of the smooth and free road, that was the reason he drove on high speed, and if it was Lagos road, where there is so much and unexplained traffic jam, he wouldn’t have over taken vehicles to that extent, that is the disadvantages of a hitch free road". He concluded that the vehicle would be taken to their office till the owner surfaces while the Toyota Camry will go for repair.
Some officials of Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), and police personnel were all present to ensure free traffic flow at the scene of the accident.
