About 1,131 pregnant women are HIV positive in Lagos

About 1,131 pregnant women have been tested positive to the dreaded and incurable disease, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in Lagos State. The  Health Commissioner, Dr. Jide Idris disclosed  this , at a ministerial news conference in Alausa, Lagos, that 38,791 pregnant women were tested for HIV, out of which 1,131 of them tested positive in the last one year. The commissioner said the test was carried out from the money received from Global Fund to tackle HIV issues in the state in a bid to attach the spread. Turbulence injures 37 on Air Canada flight (Video)

Early hour yesterday, an Air Canada flight en route to Australia was forced to make an emergency landing in Hawaii after more than 12 passengers were injured during intense turbulence. Health officials in Honolulu said 37 people on board suffered injuries in the incident, which about 30 were rushed to local hospital, including flight crew, children and elderly passengers. Those on board described a terrifying scene in which the plane suddenly dropped with only a few seconds of warning, flinging passengers and crew across the cabin. Officials said victims sustained back, neck and head injuries. The plane was travelling from Vancouver to Sydney when it encountered unexpected turbulence just west of Hawaii. Flight AC033 then made an unscheduled stop at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu at 6:45 a.m. local time, where six ambulances and 50 first responders were on scene.

Fraudsters hack into Governor Ugwuanyi's cellphone

The Enugu State Government, raised the alarm over the activities of fraudsters, who had hacked into the cell phone of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. In a statement made by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Uwakwe Abugu. Read what Uwakwe said, “ This afternoon (March 2, 2016), the Airtel cell phone number of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Governor of Enugu State, was hacked into by unknown persons for suspected fraudulent activities. “This announcement is to, hereby, draw the attention of members of the public, especially those who have been reached or contacted by the suspected fraudsters and to urge them to totally disregard any communication extended to them through that cell phone number purporting to have emanated from His Excellency, the governor. “Relevant security agencies have been appropriately contacted to investigate the unfortunate incident and, accordingly, track down the perpetrators of the scam.” Source: Daily Post
