Buhari proceeds on 5-day vacation, Osinbajo to act as President

President Buhari has begun a 5 day vacation from today, February 5 to February 10, 2016. A statement by Special Adviser to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says that while Buhari is away, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will perform the duties of the President. It was also stated that in compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

APC chairman receives president Buhari in Lagos

President Buhari yesterday receives a warm welcome from the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu in Lagos. Among the president’s entourage was the information minister, Lai Mohammed. President Buhari who arrived at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on his way to Ogun state, where he was visiting for two days to celebrate the state’s 40th anniversary will begin an official visit to France and Britain today. First, he will stop over at France to address a special session of the European Union Parliament to be attended by members of the executive and legislative arms of the Union.
