JAMB denies releasing cut-off marks for institutions for 2018 examination

Joint Admissions Matriculation Board  (JAMB)

Adverse to media reports that the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board have reduced the cut-off marks, the Agency has denied such reports.

JAMB’s Head of Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, in a statement, said no cut-off marks has been released either for programmes or institutions.

Dr Benjamin, announced that cut off marks would be revealed later in June after policy meeting.

He warned that any institution that begins admission process before the policy meeting would be acting illegally and that it would attract consequences.

“We want to seize this medium to debunk such rumours as they are malicious and wicked as they are designed to defraud innocent Nigerians, especially parents and guardians as well as other stakeholders”, Benjamin said.

He further explained that no cut-off marks have ever be decided upon without the usual policy meeting which has been scheduled to hold later in June this year, 2018 and which would be head by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.

“Until that is done, every other thing that is being paraded as cut-off mark is fictitious and therefore, the public is hereby warned not to fall prey to these fraudsters.

“In the same vein, any institution that has commenced any form of admission without the official cut-off mark as would be decided upon at the June policy meeting is doing so illegally.”
