President Buhari appoints new NIA Deputy DGs

President Muhammadu Buhari approved Kio Solomon Benibo Amieyeofori and Ambassador Apollonius Demenongu Agev appointments as the Deputy Directors-General (DDGs) at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

The Permanent Secretary (General Services) in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Olusegun Adekunle, announced in a statement on Tuesday, April 24 that the appointments are in fulfillment of Paragraph 4 (1) &(2) of the important instrument creating the NIA, with immediate effect.

The Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (DGNIA), in line with the provisions of the Instrument under reference, will assign areas of responsibilities to the DDGs who will assist him in carrying out his duties as Director-General,” Adekunle said in the statement.

While Mr Amieyeofori is from Rivers State in the South-South geopolitical zone, Mr Agev, on the other hand, is from Benue State in the North-Central geopolitical zone.
