Senator Dino Melaye has been arrested

Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has been arrested.

He was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, while trying to travel out of the country, on Monday, 23 April.

“I have just been arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport on my way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Govt after checking in,” the Kogi West Senator wrote on Twitter.

He also sent a message on his Instagram Id.

Babangida summons for two-party system in Democracy message

Former Military President of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has said that setting up a two-party political system in Nigeria is crucial to building the nation’s democracy. Babangida, who made this comment in a message to Nigerians ahead of the May 29 Democracy Day celebration, stressed that he is worried about the country’s political structure and the absence of a clear-cut ideology by political parties. The former Military President alleged that democracy in Nigeria has been polarized in the last 18 years and therefore, he wants the nation to consider adopting a two-party structure as a way to solving many of its challenges.
