Shitte movement clashes with Nigerian Police

The Police and members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Shitte clash in Abuja.

The protest started from Unity Fountain, near Transcorp hotel.

The members are demanding for the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakizaky who has been detained for two years.

Meanwhile, the police have been firing teargas and water cannon to disperse the group.

About 1,131 pregnant women are HIV positive in Lagos

About 1,131 pregnant women have been tested positive to the dreaded and incurable disease, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in Lagos State. The  Health Commissioner, Dr. Jide Idris disclosed  this , at a ministerial news conference in Alausa, Lagos, that 38,791 pregnant women were tested for HIV, out of which 1,131 of them tested positive in the last one year. The commissioner said the test was carried out from the money received from Global Fund to tackle HIV issues in the state in a bid to attach the spread. He said the agreement between the Global Fund and the Lagos State Government was signed in February 2017 with the Lagos State Ministry of Health expected to receive and manage the Global Fund grants, to oversee grant implementation and procurement, and to report on grant programmatic and financial performance to the Global Fund Secretariat. “This first phase of the grant was described as the pilot phase and it was agreed that the success of Lagos State...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally made their vows

The royal couple  Prince Harry and former Hollywood actress, Meghan Markle, are officially husband and wife. The prince, who is sixth in line to the British throne, married Markle, the American actress known for her role on the USA Network legal drama Suits, on Saturday in a ceremony held at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel in the English county of Berkshire, London. Prince Harry made the vow in front of a congregation that included his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II; the Duke of Edinburgh; Catherine Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall.
