2018 Bill passed by Senate

The Senate passed the 2018 Appropriation Bill on Wednesday. The passing of the budget follows the adoption of the report submitted by the joint National Assembly Committee on Tuesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari had presented the budget of N8.612trn to the parliament for passage in November 2017; but the National Assembly raised the estimate to N9.12trn

OAU lecturer for sex for marks has been suspended indefinitely

Professor Richard Akindele, the Obafemi Awolowo University OAU lecturer who was recently caught in a recorded audio conversation asking one of his female students, Enitan, for sex in order to pass his course, has been suspended. A member of an investigative committee set up by the management of the school to look into the allegation, after the audio coversation went viral report that the erring lecturer has appeared before the panel to state his own side but the female student who is a regular Masters student, failed to show up to testify before the panel. “The committee recommended the indefinite suspension of the professor pending the time the final report will be ready.
