Pastor Adeboye orders members to go for genital test before marriage in Redeemed

General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has ordered for the conduct of genital test on any couple who wants to marry in the church.

This is contained in a memo issued by the Assistant General Overseer (Admin and Personnel), Pastor J.F. Odesola to all concerned pastors in the church on the new plan.

A genital test is used to check for signs and symptoms that might indicate the presence of a sexually transmitted infection (STI) or to find any abnormalities that could indicate a more serious problem such as cancer.

The decision was as a result of re-occurrence of cases of marital crises resulting from falsehood, especially in the case of undisclosed or unconfessed reproductive/genital status.

“We have the directive of the General Overseer to instruct all the Mission’s outpost that forthwith, pre-marital medical examinations for intending couples should also include genital test,” the memo said.

Also provinces were requested to register with trusted government approved hospitals for the various pre-marital examination for intending couples, the memo added.
