Vice President Osibanjo in picture with school pupils eating lunch in Ondo State

Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osibanjo who has been on two days working visit in Ondo state is pictured with the state governor Rotimi Akeredolu, having lunch with the pupils of Alagbaka Estate Primary School, in the state. The Vice President wrote on his twitter handle to share how teaching has been one his favorite activities. He wrote: "Teaching has been one of my favorite things to do. It was even more spectacular teaching the pupils this morning at the Alagbaka Estate Primary School in Akure, Ondo state. I read English/Comprehension on one of the passage from one of the many resources on the @npower_ng device. After teaching, naturally it is lunch time. The kids and I are eating lunch prepared by the NHGSFP cooks in Ondo. I must confess the meal is so tasty".

Benue State governor appears before State's House Of Assembly over attack

Benue Samuel Ortom on Thursday appeared before the Benue House of Assembly to brief the lawmakers on the on-going attacks on rural communities. The governor, whose appearance was in obedience to a summon issued on Tuesday, told the lawmakers that 18 local government areas were hit by the incessant attacks that had claimed and displaced several lives. He lamented that the violence had displaced many Benue residents, and vowed to work toward ridding the state of the bandits. On the cause of the attacks, Ortom said that many reasons were being deduced with many people blaming the violence on people suspected to be pursuing a religious agenda. “Others say that it is an extension of the Boko Haram insurgency while some say that the attacks are being masterminded by herdsmen seeking land,” he said. President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Nigeria yesterday.  The  Nigerian presidential spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina revealed earlier yesterday that Buhari will arrive the country that evening from Washington. Adesina on his twitter handle wrote: “MB arrives Abuja this evening. Senator Ben Murray-Bruce  Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, says Nigeria should ban “bad governance instead of codeine”. The Bayelsa East lawmaker who made this comment on Twitter on Wednesday, noted that “bad governance makes young people so desperate that they have nothing to look forward to in life”. Senator Bruce’s statement is coming two days after the Federal Ministry of Health directed the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC)  to ban with immediate effect further issuance of permits for the importation of Codeine as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for cough preparations. English Premier League side, Liverpool will face Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final on Saturday, May 26. The two sides’ semi-final victories over AS Roma and Bayern Munich respectively have set up a repeat of the 1981 European showpiece, when the Reds defeated the Spanish giants 1-0 in Paris. Despite a 4-2 defeat against AS Roma on Wednesday night, May 2, which confirmed a 7-6 collectively, the Jürgen Klopp’s tutored side sealed their place in the final for the eighth time. This African American fashion model turned 50!

African American fashion model, Tomiko Fraser Hines turned 50 yesterday.  The Bronx-born mother of twin boys started her modeling career at the age of 25, the age when most fashion models are slowing their careers down. At age 31, she was the first African-American model to get a contract with Maybelline Cosmetics. After being told constantly that she could have a successful career as a model, Tomiko eventually quit her job as a secretary in favor of a more flexible gig as a waitress, and began pursuing modelling. Eventually, she signed with renowned FORD agency and began booking commercial and runway work here and abroad, in addition to features in a plethora of magazines and catalogs, as well as campaigns such as: Tommy Hilfiger and Old Navy. Court grants bail to Senator Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye  A Magistrate court has granted bail to Senator Dino Melaye in the sum of 90 million naira. The lawmaker representing Kogi west senatorial district who today appeared in the magistrate court sitting in a stretcher was arraigned before the court in Abuja, by the Nigerian Police Force. Apart from the 90 million naira bail, Senator Melaye was asked to provide two sureties.
