Mogadishu and Lungi barrack basket ball team

More than 10 youth sport clubs from different barracks in Abuja participated in this year Chief of Defence  Staff (CDS) Youth Championship game at the Defence Headquarters sport hall, Abuja.

The event which commenced on Saturday July 27 is part of the CDS's vision of empowering and encouraging the development  of sports among the youths in the military barracks especially in Abuja.

Meanwhile, closing the championship game, the Lungi barrack youth sport club won the Mogadishu in basketball game scoring 54 to 53.

Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Oyewole mentioned this during a visit to the National Hospital, Abuja where the patient died. The medical director of the hospital, Jack Momoh, confirmed the death, said the patient, a 33 year old newly married man, was brought in unconscious from a private hospital in Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja, where he had been admitted for eight days. Babangida summons for two-party system in Democracy message

Former Military President of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has said that setting up a two-party political system in Nigeria is crucial to building the nation’s democracy. Babangida, who made this comment in a message to Nigerians ahead of the May 29 Democracy Day celebration, stressed that he is worried about the country’s political structure and the absence of a clear-cut ideology by political parties. The former Military President alleged that democracy in Nigeria has been polarized in the last 18 years and therefore, he wants the nation to consider adopting a two-party structure as a way to solving many of its challenges. Super Eagles Rohr's frontmen hitting form right in time for 2018 FIFA World Cup

Super Eagles  boss  Gernot Rohr  was left with a lot of questions about his attack following Nigeria's two friendly games against Poland and Serbia in March.   Rohr’s men scored just one goal in the very cagey game against Poland, a penalty from  Victor Moses  and were totally shut out in the 2-0 loss to Serbia just days later.
