Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi arrived in Uyo camp with his father, Chuba as one of the early arrivals ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Arsenal star arrived in Uyo on Monday from Lagos with his dad. Iwobi has been included in the Super Eagles 30-man provisional squad ahead of the World Cup in Russia and is expected to be in the final 23-man list. The 22-year-old has been in Lagos, since Saturday, May 19 where he first attended a ceremony to reveal him as an ambassador for an electronics company. Iwobi was mobbed by a host of photo-seeking fans at the Ibom International Airport when he arrived in Uyo. He is one of the earliest arrivals in Super Eagles base at the Le Meridien in Uyo which will open on Tuesday, May 22. A host of Super Eagles players including Elderson Echiejile have also reported to camp. Newsnowgroup

A 25-year-old Brazillian woman has been arrested by the Narcotic Control Bureau (NBC) with 106 capsules of cocaine in her stomach from Indira Gandhi international (IGI) airport, India. According to Vishwa Vijay, superintendent of NCB’s Delhi unit, the woman was caught on May 14, soon after she landed at the Delhi airport in a flight from Sao Paulo in Brazil based on previous information. The 106 capsules weighing around 930 grams of pure South American cocaine and worth around Rs 6 crore were extracted from her body between May 14 and 20 by administering her laxatives at the Safdarjung Hospital, NCB officials said. “This is the highest number of capsules of cocaine extracted from any professional drugs swallower by the NCB’s Delhi bureau,” said Vijay. NCB officials have refused to disclosed the name of the arrested Brazilian woman. The consignment of the cocaine was to be delivered to a Nigerian national in Delhi. Olisa Metuh The former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olisa Metuh has collapsed during his trial in an Abuja High Court. He is standing trial for alleged money laundering of N400million being part of the funds linked with former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd). Metuh was trying to make his way to the dock when he suddenly collapsed.
